Growing a Better Tomorrow Starts Today
About Us
Welcome to our website! We are Kevin and Thea, a husband and wife team of retired veterinarians who have found a new passion in owning and operating a small native plant nursery in Central New York. Our mission is to provide our community with high-quality fruit and nut trees, native trees, berry bushes, and companion plants that are not only beautiful and beneficial for local wildlife but also sustainable for our environment.
At our nursery, we grow a variety of native plants that are well-suited to our region's climate and soil. We believe in the importance of using native plants in landscaping as they provide vital habitat for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife while also helping to conserve water and reduce the need for harmful pesticides and fertilizers.
Most of our plants are available locally here in Central New York for pickup by appointment. Please note that we do not ship plants at this time — all sales are local pickup only. The best way to see what we currently have on hand is to check our listings on Facebook Marketplace or message us directly, and we'll get you set up with a time to come select your plants.
We are passionate about what we do, and we are always happy to share our knowledge and expertise with our customers. Whether you are an experienced gardener or just starting, we are here to help you find the right plants for your needs and to provide you with the tools and knowledge to help them thrive.
On a personal note, Kevin is the author of Before I Could Read: A Memoir of Learning, Survival, and Becoming — the story of growing up dyslexic, not learning to read until he was twenty-eight, and the winding road from there through veterinary medicine at Cornell to building this sanctuary. The book is available now: Kindle $9.95 and paperback $19.95 on Amazon. Bookstores and libraries can order it through Ingram. More on the book page.
Thank you for visiting our website, and we hope to see you soon at our nursery or online!
